Based on multi-camera 3D sensing, the all-surrounding sensing system is both high-resolution and highly accurate.Most of the current automated driving systems are limited to highway driving. To enable automated driving systems to be used on general roads, they need to accurately recognize the entire road environment around the vehicle, including a complex mix of objects such as pedestrians and bicycles. Radar and LiDAR systems with high-ranging accuracy, however, still face cost issues before they can see widespread adoption, and all-surrounding-area camera systems, which although are superior in terms of cost, are mainly based on a monocular camera that is still continually evolving to improve accuracy and other issues.Hitachi Astemo, together with the Research and Development Division of Hitachi, Ltd., leveraged their strengths in stereo camera technology to develop a prototype of the 360-degree stereo vision system, using multi-camera 3D sensing that enables distance measurement with the stereo camera technology. Instead of the conventional module consisting of two cameras with the same view angle and being nearly parallel to each other, the camera layout has been made more flexible to use a combination of approximately 10 cameras with different angles of view, including non-parallel cameras to provide stereoscopic 3D vision. By integrating multi-camera 3D sensing into a single in-vehicle camera system, the system realizes 360-degree stereo vision, with a cost advantage, high accuracy and resolution.By generating highly accurate distance information in stereo and all around the vehicle, the system can detect such elements as the distance of a vehicle traveling in the adjacent lane, or a two-wheeled vehicle slipping through a line of cars from behind in a traffic jam. It can estimate the relative speed and direction of movement, and apply this information for vehicle control to avoid collisions and entanglement at intersections. In addition to basic object recognition of objects such as cars, motorcycles, pedestrians, and traffic lanes, the recognition function also includes turn signals, red lights, and brake lights to predict the behavior of other vehicles; as well as traffic signals, road signs, road edges, and free space areas available for driving--all of which are necessary to identify for while driving on ordinary roads.Furthermore, Hitachi Astemo has improved reliability and environmental resistance in camera sensing such as features to resist water droplets and dirt adhering to the lens surface, or shielding the entire lens in the snow. ("OOWAY"), for conveying to the media factual inaccuracies and mischaracterising recent events.The Board, with the exception of Madam Hao Dongting ("Mdm Hao"), said that there are no grounds to justify the resignations. The Board had received a notice (the "Section 177 Notice") - issued under Section 177 of the Companies Act 1967 - on 30 September 2022 from OOWAY and 7 individuals who own an aggregate of 21.71% of the Company's shares.Kitchen Culture was listed on SGX Catalist in 2011 as a provider of solutions and products for kitchens and wardrobes. Its shares have been suspended from trading since July 2021. Its Board has seen several changes since the involvement of OOWAY in October 2020. This condition could not be accepted after the Nominating Committee's due assessment which found the candidate to be not suitable to be the CFO of the Company. Subsequently, the former Executive Director and Interim CEO Mr Lincoln Teo had on 7 July 2022 recommended the Board to accept a proposal by another investor found by the OOWAY Group which contained conditions, among others, that the Company's investment in OTPL be provided as collateral for a convertible loan of S$5.0 million. By late-July 2022, the balance proceeds from the past fundraising activities were reduced to the precariously low level of S$26,559 while liabilities accumulated under the management of Mr Lincoln Teo amounted to approximately S$935,000.4) There is no basis to state "OOWAY Technology [Pte. Ltd.] [("OTPL")] is Kitchen Culture's most valuable asset".OOWAY has made many promises of injecting profitable businesses to the Company but did not make good its promises since becoming shareholders of the Company in October 2020 and had management control of the Company between July 2021 and July 2022.It is noted that the OTPL and its subsidiaries ("the OTPL Group") recorded losses in 2020 and 2021. BackgroundTo solve social issues such as attaining carbon neutrality, a recycling-oriented society, and human rights due diligence, a new mechanism is required for accurately distributing the data possessed by respective organizations across the supply chain. To prevent differences in business practices and legal regulations in respective countries and regions from hampering data distribution, data-sharing platforms have been studied in various countries in collaboration with many companies and organizations. Examples include building mechanisms such as Gaia-X,(2) which is a common standard for data distribution platforms in Europe, and Catena-X,(3) which is led by German automakers and IT companies.It is expected that Japanese companies that do business with German automotive companies will be required to distribute data via Catena-X. If they do so in accordance with the batteries regulation in Europe, data related to trade secrets, such as information on the raw materials of automotive components and order taking and placement, in addition to the carbon footprint ("CFP") information, will be stored in data centers located overseas. This may raise concerns for Japanese companies from the viewpoint of information management. Thus, Japan needs a unique system which can be interconnected with data spaces(4) in Europe while safely ensuring data management based on Japan's policy.To take on this challenge, NTT DATA and DENSO will launch a study on a data space for the automotive and manufacturing industries ("the data space") to manage life cycle data on EV batteries and build an industry-wide ecosystem for EV batteries.2. Specific effortsNTT DATA and DENSO will study a method for calculating the CFP information of the supply chain, which is required to build an industry-wide ecosystem for batteries that are crucial for the spread of EVs, and for visualizing environmental considerations in terms of scarce resources and human rights (human rights and environmental due diligence ("DD")) in the data space.As part of such efforts, NTT DATA and DENSO jointly applied for a METI subsidy program for FY2022 and were approved as business operators in September 2022. The two companies will work with relevant organizations to study a way of sharing, accumulating, and exchanging information on the calculation of CFP and implementation of DD in an industry-wide ecosystem for batteries.
